no she doesnt smoke and her voice is like that cos she was working hard back then wen she was doing that cd and she was doing her new film so her voice isnt going to be perfect that screeching is her whistle register coming out as well as her high notes because ov her noguels lv u mc cant wait 4 ur new album

so much alcohol. That’s her problem. Everybody knows it, except for the lambs of course, but the excess on alcohol (she wakes up on it and goes to bed as if) has dried her vocal chords and also obviously that she was oversinging for years at first pushing her voice to the limit. She had a wonderful range and a great power and tone but she hadn’t a voice like Whitney or Christina to be trying to do the things she did from 90-94, so she lost a lot and then alcohol and smoke killed her voice 4ever

I dont know shes improved more when she was going through her depression there was this grammys performance she had done and it just seemed like she was trying so hard. No definitely not like the hero days but I think shes had to become stronger as a person and it affected how she sings. Here, its not so bad better than that grammy performance

The girl over singing her at the end is her background singer and a vocal coach named Mary Ann Tatum. She definately helps Mariah out big time because her pitch is close to Mimi’s and she steps up to ensure vocally to help with some songs.

Great performance, backing singers were lovely until the breakdown at the end, damn they ruined it a little bit
