I have always agreed with Simon. I’ve auditioned for Idol before, and these people literally do think they are amazing singers. I am a decent singer and I am not half as cocky as most of the terrible ones! However, after the first audition they do have to go through three more auditions with producers telling them how amazing they are the whole time.

The truth is that Simon in harsh as hell, put those people need to ear it, because I believe that they’ve got no idea how bad they are, and sometimes, that’s because their fooled by friends and family who say their awesome.
I don’t believe Simon is a monster at all, sometimes he is though…put that’s the business!

I don’t think that Simon is too harsh.
All those people – those terrible, terrible singers with neither voice, hearing or charisma – all got to the auditions of American Idol, sang badly and made complete fools of themselves just because of people letting them off easy, not telling the truth to their faces. If they had any idea how much they really suck, they wouldn’t have made such asses of themselves.
I think that what Paula does is much more condescending. Don’t sugarcoat the truth.

sometimes i wonder if on the show, they figure one judge has to be a sweetie (paula) one has to be strict but easy on them (randy) and one has to be a freakin jerk (simon) idk to me its kind of like a fake at tiems. no offense but thats only my opinion.
